OM Ships International is the organisation behind the Logos Hope, an ocean-going vessel whose purpose is to bring knowledge, help and hope to people around the world. The organisation fulfils this purpose by providing vital literature through its ships, which have called at over 450 different ports in more than 150 countries and territories since 1970 and welcomed over 44 million visitors on board.

Through its distribution centre in Florence, South Carolina, it not only provides literature to the ships, but also operates a large online bookstore and wholesale outlet for discounted books distributed in the United States and worldwide.

The challenge and the solution

A recently completed new warehouse extension increases OM Ships' total capacity by 24,000 square meters and allows the company to consolidate warehousing in one location. By equipping the new warehouse with our META MULTIPAL pallet racking system and our META CLIP racking system, capacity and efficiency have been significantly increased compared to the previous floor layout. The META MULTIPAL pallet racking offers 1,590 pallet spaces for packed and palletized products. Our META CLIP racking system, with a footprint of only 1,086 square meters, provides over 4,200 square meters of storage space with a total of 648 shelves, giving OM Ships plenty of room for non-packaged products and fast-moving, small-ticket items.

The great flexibility of our META products allows OM Ships to quickly adapt the planned 493 square meters of staging space to current and future handling needs.
